Who was your inspiration in Childhood ?
My inspiration was my family. I was surrounded by educators in my family. Ma Nanaji, Mamaji, my mother everybody was into academics. My Mamaji was HOD in Meerut College. I think teaching was in my blood. Once a teacher then teacher for always.
Which great leaders from history or your contemporaries influenced your thought process?
In the field of education, Dr. Maria Montessori. She was a doctor by profession, but she never enjoyed her profession as it was her mother’s choice to become a doctor. She did a lot of work in early childhood care and education and I want to be like her.
I am also a big fan of Mother Teresa and the kind of dedication she had towards the society. Her inclination towards girl child always clicked me. All my teachers are also female and I also keep encouraging them and motivating them to do various deeds in all sphere of life. There is nothing that a girl can’t do.
When did you start working on your ambition?
Before starting the play school I was a full time housewife totally devoted toward my kids and my family. But my family always encouraged me to do something. I even continued my studies after marriage. My mom-in-law was very helpful and cooperated with me in all possible ways in pursuing education.
I started my school in 2007 when my daughter was in pre-school and my son was in class 2. I undertook professional training from Maria Montessori Institute, London.
