CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has been reelected for a second term with 92 per cent of the vote, state media reported today citing preliminary results.

Some 23 million of the 60 million registered voters turned out during the three days of polling that ended yesterday, state-owned newspapers Al-Ahram and Akhbar el-Youm, and the official MENA news agency reported.

PARIS: A man tried to ram his car into soldiers jogging near their barracks in southeast France on Thursday, without causing any injuries, security sources said.

A hunt was underway for the driver, who insulted another group of soldiers after the aborted attack in Varces-Allieres-et-Risset, near Grenoble, before speeding off, the sources added.
