FIFA puts revamped Club World Cup on hold

FIFA has agreed to delay the first edition of its revamped Club World Cup, due to be held in 2021, to make way for the Euro 2020 and Copa America tournaments which have been postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Professional football has been wiped off the map for weeks, maybe months, after all the major leagues, cups and international competitions were suspended.

FIFA to decide on new Club World Cup schedule at a later date

FIFA has agreed that the Euro 2020 and Copa America soccer tournaments, which were due to take place in June and July this year, will be held 12 months later due to the coronavirus pandemic and have been included in its international calendar.

F1 cancels August break, 21-day shutdown in March-April
