Tax harassment is very widespread: Mohandas Pai

TV Mohandas Pai, a former board member at Infosys, said his criticism of the tax department’s excesses – in the context of Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha’s suicide – has resonated with business people across India. Pai criticised the I-T dept for saying that Siddhartha had signed a confession note arguing that confession under duress, is invalid under law.

Gunman kills 20 in rampage at Walmart store in Texas, suspect in custody

The suspect, a 21-year-old white male from Allen, Texas, went on a shooting rampage killing 20 people and wounded more than two dozen at a Walmart in El Paso on Saturday. Many of those in the busy store were buying back-to-school supplies when they were caught up in the rampage trying to flee the store. This is the second mass shooting to hit the US in a week.
