The UK tier 1 investor visa, established in 2008, was the most favoured route that high net worth individuals from India, China and Russia used to get permanent residency in the UK. The British government suspended it from midnight on Thursday to prevent abuse of the scheme, thought to include money laundering and crime.
The move to sell Air India’s iconic Nariman Point headquarters in Mumbai has gained steam with many companies showing interest in the property. The government may go in for a limited bidding of this highrise and help raise Rs 1,500 crore for the cash-strapped Maharaja.

Out of the 36%, India had only 1.4 % share in global domestic passenger. US had the highest share at over 14 %, followed by China at 9 %, showed IATA data
